                             WORLD PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING DAY

        The Department of History in association with the Department of Political Science organized World Peace and Understanding Day on 22 February 2020. Dr. Zoheb Hasan spoke on historical events such as the World Wars and other conflicts and how nations worked out to settle their disputes and how the United Nations is also striving to maintain peace and order in our world. He also acted as Coordinator of the program.

                                        NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY

    The Department of History organized International Web Symposium on National Education Day (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad's birthday) on 11 November 2020 as a tribute to one of the pioneers of Indian freedom struggle and independent India's first education minister- Maulana Azad. Ms. Shaunna Rodrigues of Columbia University, New York (USA) was the Keynote Speaker while Dr. Syed Tahseen Raza, Assistant Professor, Department of Strategic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University.

                                        SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE'S BIRTHDAY

        The Department of History celebrated Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's 124th birth anniversary on 23 January 2021 by organizing a zoom guest talk. The Chief speaker was Dr, Naiyer Azam, Assistant Professor, Department of Historical Studies, Avvaiyar, Govt. College for Women, Karaikal, Pondicherry, India.

                                LALA LAJPAT RAI'S BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

        The Department of History organized a web talk via Zoom platform on the birth anniversary of Lala Lajpat Rai, eminent nationalist, journalist, writer and President of Indian National Congress, on 28 January 2021.  Dr. Zoheb Hasan, Head, Department of History reflected on the contribution and life of Lala Lajpat Rai. Students gave a keen hearing and thoroughly followed the lecture.

                CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI'S CORONATION CEREMONY DAY

        The Department of History observed Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji's coronation ceremony day on 6 June 2021 by organizing a webinar via zoom platform. Principal Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh gave his opening remarks while Dr. Zoheb Hasan highlighted Maratha king's achievements and how he bravely faced the odds and hardships in his short yet eventful life. Dr. Baba Shaikh from Hindi Department also spoke on the same.

                                                            MARTYR'S DAY 

       The Department of History in association with the NSS unit of Poona College organized a guidance talk via zoom platform on the occasion of Martyr's Day (30 January 2022). Dr. Parth Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Law and Social Sciences, School of Law, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun was the Resource Person invited for the same. He highlighted the significance of Gandhian thought and why his life holds an important message for humanity.
